Three days 3rd Annual field course on Conservation Biology and Global Health at Human Environment Interference at NAMI College

NAMI College concluded three days long third annual field course on conservation biology and global health at human-environment interference. The session started on 13th February with 27 participants, from four different colleges (NAMI, CDES, GGIC, and KAFCOL). The training was focused on Global ecology and conservation, Human-environment interference, and Human health and the environment. The practical field course was carried on using camera trap, drone, radio telemetry, range finder and darting technique for biodiversity conservation. A school outreach program was also carried in Aksharica School regarding the human-wildlife conflict. The chief instructor of the training was Professors Dr. Randall C. kyes, University of Washington. The three days training was inaugurated jointly by Board of Directors (BOD) of NAMI College, Mrs Uma Rajya Laxmi Shah, CEO Pawan Pokherel and Principle Sanjiv Udash. Three guest presenters: Ms Suja Gurung, Mr Naresh Kusi and Mr Bijay Bashyal shared their research on Varanus, Wild Yak and Musk Deer respectively. On the final day of the training, the training was concluded by awarding certificates to participants by BOD chairperson Dr Arzu Deuba and planting three trees as a symbol of third annual field course.
